The Skill Development Project at Zula Children Uganda aims to empower vulnerable youth and orphans through practical skills training. By equipping them with marketable skills, we help them gain independence, improve their livelihoods, and contribute positively to their communities. This project is designed to address the high rates of unemployment and underemployment among young people in Greater Masaka.
1. Empower Youth through Vocational Training:
Provide hands-on training in various trades, such as hairdressing, tailoring, carpentry, and agriculture, enabling participants to develop skills that are in demand.
2. Enhance Employability:
Equip young people with the necessary skills and knowledge to secure employment or start their own businesses, fostering self-sufficiency.
3. Promote Entrepreneurship:
Encourage participants to become entrepreneurs by offering training on business management, financial literacy, and marketing strategies.
4. Create Sustainable Livelihoods:
Help participants build sustainable income sources that improve their quality of life and reduce dependency on external aid.
The Skill Development Project is designed for youth aged 15 to 25 years, particularly those who are orphans or come from vulnerable backgrounds. We aim to reach those who have dropped out of school or face barriers to accessing vocational training.
1. Improved Employment Rates:
Participants will gain skills that enhance their employability, leading to increased job placements and business opportunities.
2. Increased Income Levels:
Through skill acquisition and entrepreneurship, participants will experience improved income, contributing to their families and communities.
3. Empowered Community:
By supporting youth in their professional development, we foster a sense of responsibility and community engagement, leading to a more resilient society.
4. Sustainable Development:
The project contributes to the overall economic development of the region by reducing unemployment and promoting self-reliance among youth.
